Michigan

If you know of a convention that needs to be added to the list or have updated your own convention's policy, you can fill out the form here. If you find any broken links or have any questions about this page, please contact Fractali at admin@cosplayer-ssn.org. This is a perpetual work in progress!

A guide to some of Michigan's laws can be found here.

A means they meet the criterion.
A means they have partially met the criterion.
A means they fail the criterion.

Additional notes for clarification can be found below the table.

Note: conventions with * have either not updated for several years, have a malfunctioning website, or may be defunct.

Note: Capital City Comic Con's mention of harassment is located on the Cosplay page and is not a full policy.

Note: GrandCon's policy does list an email to contact "if you have any questions regarding this policy," which one may assume would apply to contacting about an active report, but this is not at all clear.

Note: Great Lakes Comic Convention has an "Etiquette" page with a long description that dances around the concept of harassment, but does not explicitly state the word "harass/ment," therefore it cannot count as a policy.

Note: Kogan Con's policy was published using Google Docs. We are unsure if clicking any links within the document (e.g., the security email) would collect information about the visitor.

Note: Motor City Furry Con's policy implies that it applies to "other members or individuals not associated with the convention," however, it is not explicit enough regarding application to staff, security, etc.

Note: At time of evaluation, Otaku Detroit Summer Bash's Con Policies page says "Con Policies Coming Soon!" and nothing else.

Note: Penguicon's policy does list a definition of misconduct that could apply to the definition of harassment, but because it is not specifically linked to the word "harass/ment" or the harassment section of the code of conduct, and because the harassment section has a separate and not necessarily global definition, we cannot give full credit. We also were not certain that the policy applied to everyone including the chair/Board of Directors.

Note: Really Cool Comic Con's mention of harassment is listed at the bottom of the Cosplay Contest page. This is not a policy. It is also not accessible to anyone who is not considering participating in the cosplay contest itself.

Note: At time of evaluation, Youmacon's website links to a broken FAQ page. We cannot evaluate a policy or even know if one is there if the page is not functional.
